Want to see something gross?

(Please note: The “I have a culinary boner” t-shirt is from Top Chef Season 4 and can be purchased at the Bravo Shop.  The hat is actually from Jax Fish House where Hosea Rosenberg, the winner of Top Chef Season 5,  is the executive chef.  So glad I could do Top Chef proud.)

Want to join in the fun?
Pick 4 ingredients, stick them in a blender and force them down your throat. Add the “gagshake” tag when you post it to YouTube.  Tweet the link with the #gagshake tag.
Have a Gag Shake suggestion, but don’t want to drink it?  Tweet it to @tsand with the #idareu tag.  I might give it a whirl.

#imagication slideshow

Imagination + vacation = #imagication on twitter.

This is a slideshow of some of the pics from my trip (@tsand’s imagication) with a voice-over giving some details on each shot.

Flew out of Green Bay, Wisconsin on NWA flight 324 at 6am, landed at MCO a little after noon Eastern time, rented a car from Budget and drove to Cocoa Beach, Florida. Had some fun, then hopped on a Greyhound bus in Titusville before midnight. Arrived back in Green Bay at 8am (bus driver was retired NASCAR star, and wicked fast at the wheel – not positive but think it was Dick Trickle). Great time! Will be doing it again!!!

Didn’t get the gift I picked up for you? T-shirt .jpg still available!

First Facebook’s TOS, now this…

Got an email from my wife today, she’s also made some Terms of Service updates:

I, Kristie, take you Todd, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part a later date.

uTodd – gets a new title

uTodd – higher ed and the web

Sounded like a good title at the time (August 2007). Turns out it wasn’t.

I mean, I do Web work at a university, so it makes sense. But the problem is I don’t like blogging about my work. When I get home and have the chance to blog, I don’t want to talk about what I did all day… don’t believe me, ask my wife.

What do I want to talk about?

Fun shit.  The reasoning behind why I enjoy Busch beer just as much as I enjoy Hacker-Pschorr Weisse.  Picking up dog poo.  What the kids said at the dinner table that made me spit food.  Why I hate snow and AT&T.  My imaginary vacations that take place only online.  Chocolate making videos.  The trip to the doctor where he told me to eat more fiber or die.  My feelings on minivans and vasectomies (of which I have one).  The cool restaurant I just ate at, and why I’ll never go back.  My backyard patio project that includes a Rumford fireplace.  And more fun shit.

See, none of that is about higher ed and the web.  So a title change is necessary, but not the URL even though the “u” in uTodd is for university.  I’m proud of my five character, somewhat-making-sense URL.  Plus it’s paid for.

All you higher eders feel free to unsubscribe, I’m not into number counts, so you won’t offend me.  Unless I find out who you are.  Then I’ll be pissed, and won’t make eye contact with you if we’re ever at the same conference.

Please note, now that higher ed is out of the title I’ll probably make a ton of highed-related posts, that’s just how it works.

What’s the new title?

now taking title suggestions

#imagication, all I ever wanted…

imagination + vacation = #imagication

Wednesday, February 11, 2009 is a day to pretend, to imagine, to boast of things that aren’t really happening in places that aren’t really near. Unless of course you’re actually on vacation, then this game shouldn’t interest you (get off the computer, asshole).

How to play:

  1. Pick a vacation destination
  2. Tweet about what you’re doing there
  3. Tag your tweet with #imagication

Join the fun, or just follow along on

UPDATE: My #imagication photos on Flickr.

Went on a ski trip, had a good time.  Slapped together a video to remember the day.  Thought it needed a soundtrack…

Join the #snowfight on twitter:

When it snows, tag a tweet with #ilovesnow or #ihatesnow. When (if) it stops snowing we’ll count them up to determine a winner.

If it never snows where you live… leave your twitter name in the comments so I can tweet you with a special tag (read: #ihateu).

Sleddin Dirty, why you shouldn’t bet on twitter

Two weeks ago I made a bet on twitter… and lost.  Sledding in shorts was the price I agreed to pay.

Shopping for the shorts:

Sledding in the shorts (caution NSFW):

The good news:

Thanks to the #idareu tag on twitter and a UWGB victory over Butler tonight, a bulldog has to sport some Phoenix wings around his campus in the near future.  Hopefully he can find some in his size at a decent price — really, anyone know the going rate on mythical wings?

If you want in on the fun next time, tweet @tsand with your dare and tag it #idareu.  Yes, winter in Wisconsin is long and boring.  It’s either this or snowshoeing.
